Krishna Vikash Institute of Higher Education's Department of Science stands out for its commitment to experiential learning. Through a diverse array of workshops held on campus, such as mushroom cultivation and bonsai techniques, students not only gain valuable knowledge but also acquire practical skills that can translate into potential sources of income. Moreover, the department goes the extra mile by arranging visits to renowned research laboratories, including the IGKV Tissue Culture Lab, university research facilities, and hospital labs specializing in immunology. These hands-on experiences provide students with invaluable insights into cutting-edge scientific practices, fostering a dynamic learning environment that prepares them for success in their future endeavors.

In addition, we organize weekly seminars led by students, aimed at fostering knowledge enhancement, exploration, and personality development. These sessions, facilitated by experts, cover a wide range of topics including competitive exam strategies, research-related discussions, and public awareness initiatives. By providing a platform for students to engage with diverse subject matter and interact with industry professionals, these seminars play a crucial role in the holistic development of our students, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to excel in both academic and real-world settings.

Our institution takes pride in its state-of-the- laboratories, meticulously designed to facilitate a wide range of experiments in chemistry, biotechnology, botany, and zoology. These well-equipped facilities serve as the cornerstone of our academic programs, offering students hands-on experience that goes beyond the confines of traditional classroom learning.

Our laboratories are not only tailored to meet the requirements of undergraduate studies but also provide invaluable experience for those pursuing further studies and research. With advanced instrumentation and expert guidance from faculty members, students are empowered to explore, analyze, and innovate in their respective fields of study.

From conducting fundamental experiments to undertaking complex research projects, our laboratories serve as dynamic spaces where theoretical knowledge is translated into practical application, fostering a culture of curiosity, discovery, and academic excellence.

The faculty members of the Department of Science boast exceptional qualifications and remarkable research acumen. Led by Dr. Sajal Saju Deo, the Head of Department, whose expertise extends beyond academic mastery to include active involvement in cutting-edge research. Dr. Sajal saju Deo oversees two ongoing projects supported by the Chhattisgarh government, alongside numerous publications in esteemed journals such as Scopus, SCI, and UGC listed journals, showcasing her prolific contributions to the field.

Assistant Professor Dr. Akanksha Pandey, specializing in Biotechnology, has made significant strides with 12 research papers published in Scopus and UGC listed journals, along with contributions to book chapters and patents, underscoring her dedication to advancing scientific knowledge and innovation.

Similarly, Dr. Neetu Shrivastava, an Assistant Professor in Zoology, has contributed to the department's scholarly endeavors with three research papers published in UGC listed journals, complemented by her contributions to book chapters. Their collective expertise and research achievements enrich the academic environment, inspiring students and colleagues alike to strive for excellence in scientific inquiry and discovery.

HOD

I expected anything less than perfect for the team of experts. They are the best team ever!

The Department of Management focuses on Management education more than just Business Management. The commitment is thought leadership with a deep understanding of business. The approach to pedagogy combines field work, Case Studies, Research and Instrumental Feedback with a strong emphasis on concept and theory. We, as department of management are training our students to cope up with the pressure competition students are given ample opportunity to create and exploit innovations in the work culture. After completing management, a student is well prepared to sustain a corporate employee or an entrepreneur.

PEOs (Program Educational Objectives)

  1. The students should be knowledgeable about the basic concepts of biotechnology. Lab work along with the theory is very important for the student to know and understand which help him to pursue higher education or successful career with synergistic combination of the knowledge and skills of biotechnology and allied sciences.

  2. The student should have the ability to independently develop, execute, and understand modest research challenges. Also the student should have knowledge about the ethical responsibilities about conducting research.

  3. There should be an increase in the self learning abilities of the student. They should be able to grasp and share knowledge to a layman and to a qualified researcher.

Pos (Program Outcomes)

  1. The field of biotechnology is an emerging one and hence there are new jobs which will be created in the future but even in the present there are various professions which a student can opt for.

  2. The student will have significant knowledge on plethora of aspects in Biotechnology with significant knowledge about microorganisms and the products which are produced by micro-organisms.

  3. The students will have expertise in laboratory techniques of basic microbiology, especially laboratory techniques with special regard given to isolation & characterization of industrially important microorganisms.

  4. The students should understand the most basic concepts of classical biotechnology (natural occurring products) and modern biotechnology (modified/created product).

  5. The students will get exposure to various research fields and will be thrust in areas of the core and interdisciplinary subjects while also acquiring the technical skills with special emphasis in regard to industrially important metabolites and their production.

  6. The student will have the knowledge to plan and execute any experiments along with the knowhow to analyze & interpret data for any research.
